geocities.com/lavalon_edwin primarily a Backpacker orientated website created by local resident and identity Edwin Lerrick. It is a particularly good site for Backpackers or anyone else for that matter who is already in Indonesia and wants to find more information about traveling to or within Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). When you are in Kupang it is highly recommended that you visit Edwin at his seaside internet cafe at Jl. Sumartra 44 - his coffee is great and the information is free and unlimited (his guitar playing is not too bad either!) |

Credits & Thanks
| Special Thanks go to Dr. Kal Muller who has given us permission to use his incredible photographs and to quote his personal assessments on each of the specific areas we describe in this website. Kal has been exploring Indonesia, both above and below the water for the last 20+ years and has written and or been the photographer for numerous books starting with "Indonesia; Paradise on the Equator "(published in 1988), numerous Travel and Diving Guides, two books about Mexico City and his latest work "Between the Tides: A Fascinating Journey among the Komoro of New Guinea" (published in 2003). We would like to acknowledge that the invaluable contributions made by our friend and diving buddy, Dr. Kal Muller, (one of life's true gentlemen) are worth at least a carton of "Glen Fiddich" but with a heart like Kal's, we already know that acknowledgement is reward enough. |

A special thanks to the Periplus "East of
Bali" travel guide
What more can we say about the Periplus Editions "East of Bali" by Kal Muller edited by David Pickell than the fact that we chose it above all other Travel Guides as the most comprehensive, informative and descriptive both in text and photographs as the inspiration for this website. In addition to "East of Bali" they publish other Indonesian travel guides on BALI, Sumatra, Java, Irian Jaya (Indonesian New Guinea), Maluku, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and the renouned diving guide "Underwater Indonesia" later renamed "Diving Indonesia" also by Dr. Kal Muller. |

Any questions?? Require more info?? e.g. What is the temperature in ... ? What do I wear when climbing a volcano? How do I avoid being eaten by the dragons? What is the ferry schedule for...? Where is the best place to eat in...? I only have two weeks what itinerary would you suggest? Is it really more exciting than Bali? Or anything else you want to know. |
